My Day off

Hello again,

I have been lucky to now have two lovely days off to relax and ......... tidy up if I'm honest. Anyway, I think the best thing to do while doing this, is to give my skin a day off as well.

I think this is an extremely important thing to do from time to time. You put your skin through a lot everyday and expose it to everything really. And eventhough it may look OK, it is still a good idea to take some extra care of it.

I hardly even I go out without makeup on, apart from days like these ('cos I feel naked without it!).

I always make sure it is the day when I have a good bash at my eyebrows. These are very important as they frame your face, so you want to spend some time on these otherwise things are going to be a bit of a struggle from then on. So take your time.

Eventhough, I remove my make up every night, I still do the same cleansing routine every morning to make sure I get rid off all the dirt and wake my skin up.

  1. I start my removing my eye make up. At the moment I am using Nivea Extra Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover. You don't have to use this one, just make sure it is one that is comfortable on the skin round the eye area for your skin type.
  2. I then tackle the eyebrows, choose whichever method you are happy with.
  3. I then use my cleanser Eau Thermale Avene: Extremely Gentle Clenser. I could not live without this product. The best cleanser that I have ever used on my face.
  4. I then use Eau Thermale Avene: Thermal Water.  I have reviewed this before and it is a firm favourite and a must have for any kit and handbag.
  5. After letting that soak into the skin, I apply Pond's Nourishing anti-wrinkle Cream. Beautiful product and a favourite of my grandmothers.
  6. Next onto the lip balm: I use Carmex as it achieves lovely and quick results and smells lovely (the cherry one).
  7. If I don't have to go out, then I skip applying any other products but I need to so (i know that I didn't plan to but I need a bit of help this morning) , I have to keep it minimal. So I apply a concealer, only to the areas that really trouble me. Make sure your not too heavy handed.
  8. Make sure that eyebrows are groomed.
  9. I apply mascara at this stage if I am going out as I really can't be seen without it (sad, I know). Today I am using Rimmel The MAX Volume Mascara 001 Black. Only on the top lashes though.
  10. I am very pale, so I need a tidy bit of colour to my cheeks. I use Posie tint by Benefit. This is not to heavy and will give a slight hint of colour.
And that is it. My skin has a chance to breath, calm and repair.

Maybe once a week try to do this, or at least ease up on the amount of make up you apply a tad. You will notice a difference.

Avon: Glazewear Sparkle in Coral

Morning,

Anyone that has read my reviews will know that I am not the biggest fan of Avon products. Maybe I just have bad luck with them, as my sister and my mum like the products they recieve, I .... just don't.

I really don't like having a downer on a brand or company so I keep trying to find something that I am really happy about, but I am struggling.

My mum order this lipgloss for herself but it appeared to bright for her liking so she passed it to me.

At the moment coral is everywhere in make up, so I had hopes for this. I also liked the fact that it had sparkle in it. I love a bit of glitter.

OK, the colour is true to the appearence and it is applied like any other lipgloss. The colour goes on well but you have to make sure that you get it even.
The colour does come off easily it you drink something or kiss someone even (the boy wasn't impressed) but otherwise stays on okish.
I think that this is a gloss that is best applied over a lipstick if you want a bit of a shimmer. On its own, its not scoring high.

It feels very thick on my lips. I am well aware that I am wearing lipgloss, which I don't like. It also has a taste of plastic which is always in my mouth. Yuk.

It does however sparkle. A lot of lipgloss that promise this fail, but this doesn't. It is only a subtle glimmer but cute.

I really can't decide if I like this product or not. There are some upsides to it but I am struggling to get over the thickness of it, as it is driving me crazy and the taste that it leaves in your mouth.

One of the better products that I have tried.

Give it a go, it aint terrible. Just not brilliant.

Benefit: Posie tint

What the packaging says
Poppy-pink tinted lip & cheek stain. Brush three strokes on the apple of your cheek and blend quickly. Dot on lips and blend with fingertips. For a deeper 'pop' of color, repeat.

I'm usually not a massive fan of these two in one products for everyday use. I only use when on holiday really, because they are handy little products. This lip and cheek stain is howver, is something that I will keep in my handbag.

This is a super cute little bottle, it is shiny, and cute with a little posie on it. What's not to like.

Anyone that has not used a product like this before, it is a liquid tint that can be blended into both the cheeks and lips and you apply the product with a brush.

I have very very pale skin, and I have to apply this shade a couple of times  for there to be an impact, however for a faint blush, this works well. Anyone who has darker skin than me (which wouldn't be difficult), I would suggest buying the next shade up.

I really like that this stain has a beautiful fresh scent to it. Other products that I have used don't have a smell so this is lovely.

I also like how easy this is to blend into the skin. You do need to work quickly thought so you don't end up with some funky lines down your face.
It also feels very comfortable on the skin, there is no tightness or anything.
It also last for a good lenght of time and looks very natural and fresh.

Lovely little tint!

This retails at around £25. Ok it is a little bit pricey for what it is but it is nice.

FAMOUS by Sue Moxley

Bronzer season!

OK, as anyone who has read my blogs and reviews will know, I have albaster skin. So me wearing a bronzer is sometimes a bit difficult and time consuming to blend.

Well, I was going to Turkey for a two week break with the girls and I was determined to get a tan. Well a tan for me anyway.

Before I went away, I packed my usual bronzer but decided to take this one away with me as well. It is usually a lot darker than my usual shade of choice but I wanted to give it a go.

So I picked up: FAMOUS by Sue Moxley. Baked Bronze. Shade 2  - Hawaii.

I really like the packaging of this bronzer. It is minimal, silver and black. Cute and simple.

What I like about this bronzer pot is that it comes complete with a little bronzer brush underneath the lid.
It also comes complete with a compact mirror underneath the lid. Cute if you are on the move but I can't work with a mirror this small.
Great idea though.

What I love about this bronzer is the colour. Well the many different colours all blended together. They also have a slight hint of shimmer in them.

Now eventhough that it comes with a little brush, I did not use it. When applying a bronzer, I prefer to use a blusher or angle brush. This brush is a little to harsh for my liking. It I was creating something more sculpted, then I would use it.

I found that you only need a little of this product to achieve a desired effect on fair skin. It also shows up brilliantly in photographs and stays put after an evening of dancing.

I would recommend this product to anyone.
All I would say that you should choose your colour carefully or practice on the application. As I have said, a little bit goes a long way and the colour is a bit darker than in the tester palettes.

I brought this Bronzer fro Superdrugs and it cost me around £4.50.

Well worth it.

Boots: Overnight skin cream

What the packaging says

A rich moisturising cream infused with uplifting bergamot oil and indulgent almond oil.

I really like boots range of facial products. I think they are super cute.

The Boots range was first marketed in 1849 and still sticks to its original beauty formula.

The whole range comes packaged in glass bottles and pots and the design is very minamal which kepts it looking tidy and fresh.

The moisturiser is a pure white and feels thick when you pick it up but it works into the skin really well without any effort.
Once applied to the skin, it does take a bit of time to soak into the skin, well quite a while actually.
The skin feels quite comfortable but there is a slight sting (very slight) if you haven't applied it for a while.

When you open the jar, the mosituriser has got a strong smell. If I am honest, I can't really describe what it smells like. It has got a slight hint of almond in it but that is all I can really say. It is a very pleasent clean and refreshing smell.

This product retails at around £5.

I would recommend it if you have a normal skin type but if your skin is very oily or desert dry, then I don't think that this would be the best moisturiser for you.

Well worth a little try though.
