Well, it's that time of year that everyone gets a flu or a cold. I am currently recovering from a dose of Flu and woke up to find that the dreaded thing has happened ........... flaky nose and chapped lips.
It doesn't matter how soft them tissues are, they will rub away your skin.
But don't worry, the answer is with Elizabeth Arden.
In the past, I have just applied lots of my usual cream which can sting and cause the skin to appear even redder, which is never a good look. However, the 8 hr cream doesn't do this.
OK, one step at a time.
The packaging is beautiful. It is the simple clean lines and shapes that we have come to expect. All product instructions etc are kept on the back which helps keep the box looking clean and expensive.
The Tube has a lovely, subtle 8 design on it and the layout is fresh.
The packaging claims:
Soothes minor skin irritations. Also for symptoms of chapping, peeling or flaking due to minor burns, sunburn, windburn, scrapes, abrasions or cracked lips.
The formula is a thick orange gel (which to be honest, I was shocked by when I first ever used it) and does have a strong smell. I can't really explain what it smells like but it smells clean and protecting. Once you smell it you will understand what I am talking about.
The gel feels thick but it is very easy to apply.
With most creams, they slowly sink into the skin and then you can no longer feel them, this isn't the case with this cream.
As it is a gel, it leaves a thin film on the area which soothes, heals and protects the area. You are able to feel the protective layer, but your skin will not appear shiny and will not look or feel greasy.
I applied this once to nose and lips (which were in a very bad condition) in the morning and I could see the results after an hour, and in the evening, the nose and lips have completely cleared up. 100% after one application!
Elizabeth Aden could seem expensive to some people but this product is basically, a gift from the gods.
If you can only afford one product from the huge range, then make this it. I have a least one in all of the kits and one on me at all times and I could honestly, not live without it.
It can retail for roughly around £25 for a 50ml tube. However, you do not need that much on each application (depending on what you are using it for) as the gel spreads really easily and thinly.
I can't even give this product justice when explaining but trust me, buy it and you will never regret it and you will also begin to wonder what you done without it.
Every make up artist has an addiction in Make up and this is defo mine!
