Skin Defence "Clarity" Shine control Moisturiser

Hello,

I am a person of combination skin. I am very lucky that I rarely get spots (even from my poor diet). I have the classic oily T-Zone which can turn seriously dry in a minute and oil slick oily in the same amount of time.
This is usually aright once I have found the right products for my skin

When out shopping, I spotted this product. I have used the skin control papers before from this brand so had hope for this moisturiser.

Boy was I wrong.

Ok, the packaging is a pretty pale blue and white combination and the product is easy dispensed.

The product is not a cream or an oil but somewhere in between. Its like opening a creamy moisturiser and finding some has added water to it. A strange mixture.
Seeing that it is wetter than a normal moisturiser, my hopes dropped a bit as I have used products like this before, and it didn't work well.

The 'cream' is easy to spread evenly over the face which is great but then the tightening effect started to happen.

Any one who has dry skin will understand the mild discomfort you experince when washing your face with water.
For me, this product feels worse.

My skin started to feel really tight and uncomfortable. It felt like my skin couldn't breath. It felt like a clay mask had been applied to my face.
I didn't apply make up after so that I could see better what it done to my skin during the day, seeing as this was the reaction I was having.
The tight feeling lasted for around 15mins and slightly disappeared. Eventhough my skin didn't feel tight anymore, it didn't feel pleasent. It still felt like a film was across my face.

On the up-side, the shine control worked quite well at reducing the shine on my face but I don't want to go through that tight feeling to achieve it.

Remember, these are just my personal experiences and views. It doesn't mean this product is bad, it just means that I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with my skin type.

It wasn't expensive at all. A few pounds.

If you do decide to try this product and experience the same feelings that I did, I would suggest that you cleanse your face to remove it as soon as possible.
Your skin needs to breath. Leaving it on could effect the skin greater and this isn't worth it.

Fräulein3°8 120 Full Color Makeup Eyeshadow Palette Set

I couldn't live without this!

I am a girl that loves creating different looks and experimating with colours. I didn't want to waste my expensive range so I brought this little set off ebay.

I am so glad I did.

It comes in a compact book, roughly the size of a slim notepad, logo free and black.

When you open it up, you are greated by a massive range of beautiful colours, ranging from white to black and everything inbetween.

If the first layer doesn't please you enough, there is another layer hidden underneath.

The discs are of a nice size and last a good length.

I always apply a eye primer before eyeshadow and this palette grips perfectly to it.

This is a small selection of about 6 colours which have a bit of sparkle. The sparkle is eye catching and there isn't any glitter dropout.

All the colours in the packet blend really well and the colours are "true". You will achieve what you see.

" some colours I have tested in the past, look great and stunning in the pots, however when applied they are plain wishy washy."

This one contains 120 eyeshadows, so you can play around all day. It is a great price of around £12 on ebay.

I couldn't live without this palette now. This is a amazing buy for anyone that likes colour, or wants to practice with a new look.

This is a must buy! Love it!!!!!!!

Eylure Girls Aloud False Eye Lashes

OK now to talk about one of my fav things in the make up world - FAKE LASHES!!!!!!

I have a seriously addiction to lashes and mascara and I want them as dark as night and the bigger the better.

My personal go to lashes are by MAC and Shu Uemura but these come with a highish price tag however, if you look after them carefully, will last you a while.

As I have stated, I want to bring less expensive products to your attention so I will be reviewing cheaper ones first, but don't worry I will be back to these amazing creations.

I am not a big fan of products that have a celebrity name one them, such as Girls Aloud Lashes, JLS condoms (that will never be ok) as in the past I have always thought the way they were marketed was towards young teenagers. I was in a rush and quickly grabbed these in Boots and now ........... they are always in my collection.

OK packaging first. Very compact and easy to see the shape of the lashes before you buy. Obviously there are 5 girls so 5 different lashes you can purchase. Each girl is represented on the boxes so are easier to pick which look you want.
Now, the girls lashes do look amazing, however I am not completely convinced that they are wearing the lashes in the photos. I could be wrong about this.

I like very dark lashes so I usually go for the Cheryl or Sarah sets.

  • I was expected the lashes to feel very fake but the do have a nice feel to them.
  • They have a nice shape on each of them which helps with the application.#
The glue comes in the packet and is the usually white colour. The glue sticks ok but will start to come away by the end of the night, but can easily be corrected.

Now, you can tell that these lashes are fake as the have a harsh line to them, so it is very important to get them as close to the lash line as possible. Curl your lashes before and after application to help blend the two together.
If you have very light lashes, apply a fine coat of mascara before application so you have a clearer view and also apply after to help make them look like one.

These are very quick and easy to apply and very cheap at around £5.50. Def worth a purchase to try them out but will never be as good as the big guns.

Add on note
Yes, the pack does contain eye lash glue which is fine to use, I also use Duo Adhesive by MAC. This glue is amazing and will make sure that the lashes stay put all night. Whichever  lashes you choose, I highly recommend this glue. It retails for around £10.

Elizabeth Arden: Eight Hour Cream

Well, it's that time of year that everyone gets a flu or a cold. I am currently recovering from a dose of Flu and woke up to find that the dreaded thing has happened ........... flaky nose and chapped lips.
It doesn't matter how soft them tissues are, they will rub away your skin.

But don't worry, the answer is with Elizabeth Arden.

In the past, I have just applied lots of my usual cream which can sting and cause the skin to appear even redder, which is never a good look. However, the 8 hr cream doesn't do this.

OK, one step at a time.

The packaging is beautiful. It is the simple clean lines and shapes that we have come to expect. All product instructions etc are kept on the back which helps keep the box looking clean and expensive.
The Tube has a lovely, subtle 8 design on it and the layout is fresh.

The packaging claims:
Soothes minor skin irritations. Also for symptoms of chapping, peeling or flaking due to minor burns, sunburn, windburn, scrapes, abrasions or cracked lips.

The formula is a thick orange gel (which to be honest, I was shocked by when I first ever used it) and does have a strong smell. I can't really explain what it smells like but it smells clean and protecting. Once you smell it you will understand what I am talking about.
The gel feels thick but it is very easy to apply.

With most creams, they slowly sink into the skin and then you can no longer feel them, this isn't the case with this cream.
As it is a gel, it leaves a thin film on the area which soothes, heals and protects the area. You are able to feel the protective layer, but your skin will not appear shiny and will not look or feel greasy.

I applied this once to nose and lips (which were in a very  bad condition) in the morning and I could see the results after an hour, and in the evening, the nose and lips have completely cleared up. 100% after one application!

Elizabeth Aden could seem expensive to some people but this product is basically, a gift from the gods.
If you can only afford one product from the huge range, then make this it. I have a least one in all of the kits and one on me at all times and I could honestly, not live without it.

It can retail for roughly around £25 for a 50ml tube. However, you do not need that much on each application (depending on what you are using it for)  as the gel spreads really easily and thinly.

I can't even give this product justice when explaining but trust me, buy it and you will never regret it and you will also begin to wonder what you done without it.

Every make up artist has an addiction in Make up and this is defo mine!
